Featured! with Nick Wilkinson is a weekly pre-booked open mic welcoming songwriters, comedians, and spoken-word artists. The event occurs every Monday from 7-10pm at Uptown Lounge located at 1136 W Lawrence Ave. in Chicago. Songwriters will have 3 songs, 2 of which must be original while comedians and spoken word artists will have 5-minutes of their own material. We provide an attentive listening room environment to allow artists to showcase their skills.

General Guidelines for performers:

  1. Show up early. Arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled timeslot and check in with the host. 

  2. All spots are pre-booked. Fill out the form above or email featuredchicago@gmail.com with your name, phone number, email, and requested time and date to request a date. You can sign up for multiple dates but it is subject to availability.

  3. Songwriters have 3 songs and are asked to keep it within 15 minutes of time. 2 of those songs are required to be original. The third song can be either an original song or a cover. 

  4. Comedians and spoken word artists have a 5 minute set time. We’ll give you the light at a minute left. 

  5. One time slot per performer. 

  6. Microphone, mic stand, ¼” cables, xlr cables are all provided by Uptown Lounge. If other equipment is needed for your performance, please let us know ahead of time. 

  7. DO NOT contact Uptown Lounge to sign up. 

  8. We are an inclusive and diverse community. We welcome people from all walks of life and do not discriminate. 

  9. This is an Open Mic night, we are best promoted by word of mouth. Tell your friends, family, and neighbors you’re performing.
